Nicely matted and framed complete document issuing a warrant for a pardon. The partially pre-printed document is dated October 18th 1872 in Washington and hand signed by (President) U.S. Grant. Accompanying the document is a black and white glossy photograph and a brass plaque lettered "U. S. Grant 18th President 1869-1877".....$895

Large signature clean and dark. It is matted with the cover used to send to an admirer in Battle Creek Michigan. The cover is postmarked from New York and dated October 30, 1884. Grant lived in New York from 1881 and began writing his memoirs in the Fall of 1884. He died there on July 23, 1885.....$595
